Why You’ll Love It Here
From our Organizer Pixie:
Palmarcito is a charming beachside community that radiates warmth and hospitality, making everyone feel right at home. Our stunning hotel is just a short five-minute stroll from the beach, offering a serene pool, a rooftop terrace restaurant with breathtaking views, and an atmosphere surrounded by natural beauty.
Falling in love with El Salvador happened almost instantly. From the moment I picked up a surfboard and joined the locals in the waves, I was welcomed with open arms. As I became part of the community, earning my surf name, Pixie, I woke up every day excited to share the stoke with these incredible people who cheered each other into waves like family.
For years, I didn’t mind that many people dismissed El Salvador as dangerous—it kept the waves uncrowded and the magic of this place our little secret. But as word spread about the world-class surf, surf tourism began to grow. When El Salvador hosted events for the World Surf League and was chosen as a venue for the Olympic surfing competitions, it finally put the country on the map, marking the next chapter in its rise as a premier travel destination.
In over a decade of living here, I’ve never witnessed violence or felt threatened. In fact, I’ve found Salvadorians to be some of the kindest, most welcoming people I’ve ever met in all my travels. Their generosity and warmth have made this place feel like home.
And for the local community—my second family—this growth has been a lifeline, offering opportunities to rise out of poverty. Seeing their lives improve has been one of the most rewarding parts of calling this place home.
That’s why I’m committed to keeping my retreats deeply rooted in the local community. I want to give back directly to the people who have given me so much. From locally owned accommodations with million-dollar views to family-run restaurants, trusted drivers, and guide friends who feel like family, every detail of my retreats is designed to support and uplift this incredible community.
El Salvador isn’t just a destination—it’s a feeling, a connection, and a place that stays with you long after you leave. And I can’t wait to share it with you.

The Guided Getaway hotel is “The Views Resort”.
Here’s a review about it: The room was lovely; loved the shower! The pool was really nice and the food service was excellent. The employees were all very helpful and friendly. Loved staying there. I would definitely go back there next time I go toEl Salvador. It was a very easy walk to the Pacific Ocean; a small bay so the surf was breaking on the rocks at the edges but surfers glided on the waves.
